Today, awareness of how construction products (including stone) affect the environment is growing at a pace in tandem with regulations that impact the industry. At Cold Spring Granite, the keystone of our corporate culture is sustainability, lived each day through a commitment to our society, the environment and our economic strength.

Our commitment to green building is expressed by:  

• Capturing and analyzing natural stone life-cycle data

• Ongoing education, research and testing

• Continuously improving processes (on-site quarry fabrication facilities, efficient transportation systems, quarry reclamation efforts, etc.)

•Taking a leadership role in industry sustainability efforts

 

As an active U.S. Green Building Council member and leading member of the Natural Stone Council’s   (NSC) Sustainability Committee, we participate in the ongoing industry-wide planning and implementation of sustainability initiatives. Already, through rigorous third party testing, the NSC’s research  has resulted in the benchmarking and assessing lifecycle datasets for specific stones and developing criteria for best sustainable practices.
